About us

Luxury Kitchen Designers

The company was founded in 2017 by two friends Thomas Cowell and James Bray – who came together to unite their experience and shared passion to bring a fresh dynamic into the luxury bespoke kitchen market. Thomas, with a keen eye for design and meticulous attention to detail, had been a carpenter since leaving school. His many years of experience with cabinet-making helped to get the workshop off the ground in the early days. James on the other hand, with an unwavering commitment to quality, had built his career within the construction industry. His expertise within business and project management perfectly complemented Thomas' experience to ensure they were able to deliver a high quality of service in addition to the luxury bespoke product. Together they were able to create a successful luxury kitchen company that quickly gained a reputation for creating spaces that harmonised beauty, functionality, and individuality.

Built to Last

In our Lancashire workshop

We launched our workshop in Lancashire from the very beginning, a space for our team to craft our beautiful bespoke pieces. The team quickly grew as we took on more projects, with every new team member being chosen for their superb attention to detail and genuine passion in working with you to bring your dream home to life. In the beginning, we were able to manage without a showroom – showcasing previous projects through photography on our website. However, it soon became apparent that having physical displays were imperative for us to highlight to new clients just how superior the quality of a Thomas James kitchen really is.

Our Showroom

In the heart of Cheshire

It was in 2021 when we opened our first state-of-the-art showroom on Wilmslow high street to showcase our Heritage and Classic kitchen designs. Here you can find our quality cabinetry, bespoke features, high end appliances, and an array of samples that will help you make design decisions for your own kitchen design. In 2024 we launched our newest Sienna collection that has proven to be very popular, and we have had our first showroom refurbishment to include an additional display of this beautiful collection. The company continues to thrive under the shared vision of Thomas and James, ensuring all clients receive a completely bespoke service, the highest level of customer care, and craftsmanship that is second to none.

Our reviews

Crafted for excellence

"Thank you to everyone at Thomas James for our stunning kitchen! It was a fantastic experience from start to finish; with designer Andrew, creating and refining our vision. Martin, who meticulously fitted the kitchen whilst being constantly pestered by our dog. And Tom, who went above and beyond for us. We would highly recommend Thomas James to anyone looking for a bespoke kitchen; friendly staff, high standard of finish and craftsmanship."

"We cannot recommend Thomas James Bespoke enough, our kitchen was fitted earlier this year. The quality, design and finish is absolutely fabulous and far exceeds other kitchen companies that we researched prior to choosing Thomas James. The costing is incredibly competitive and the overall craftmanship is superb. Every member of the team was hardworking, polite and diligent. We love our kitchen, thank you so much."
